The problem with any highpoint I've ever shot isn't it going kaboom. Their problem is they wouldn't go bang reliably. I know alot of people like their carbine and I MIGHT try one just to see. I'll never own or trust one of their pistols.

Ruptured case
This was the .40 S&W H.P. pistol. I don't believe the fellow handloads. They said it was only the 11th. round fired through a new gun. My nephew is a forester for the state of Florida and does a lot of hunting and shooting, so the gun was brought to him for an opinion by his fellow worker. Nothing official. He didn't mention any barrel blockage.

Yeah, have to admit I've never had a highpoint owner complain about FTFs with factory ammo. I've really only known people who own the 9mms, haven't dealt first or second hand with the .40's and .45's (if they are making a .45).

I really hate too sound snotty about Hi-Points, however; We have a very short history with them. The 40 is a high pressure round--don't play around with it.
I like weapons with a history--even a Glock. They can all go Ka-Boom but I like good lineage with weapons. The Hi-Point just does not have lineage to trust it with an explosion---these are not play toys--cap pistols. Blessings |

Not sure how a firearm gets a lineage if everyone waits to buy one until it has a lineage. I haven't heard of any safety problems with them.
Tact: Making someone feel at home when you wish they were. "The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure, when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them." Patrick Henry Our enemies have trained our teachers and professors. Those teachers are training our children. "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. " Thomas Jefferson “If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”—Samuel Adams Gary |

Owned a Hi-point...past tense
I owned a JHP 45. I hated it. It has been replaced with a HK USP 45.

my dad had one for a pretty short time.. I think it lasted 2 or 3 times out shooting. then he quickly got rid of it. I got a chance to shoot it and I was less than impressed myself. not comfortable at all. didn't like the trigger. the only thing it has going for it is that it's made here and the life time warranty.
You can have my freedom as soon as I'm done with it!!! |
