Forbus holster for LCP..
Any opinions? Ruger is cutting a deal on a Forbus for the LCP. I have never owned a Forbus and am looking for a quick on/off holster for the LCP to carry under my shirt.
Thanks, Jim |

The belt holsters are fine for casual use. They didn't hold up well out here in the sandbox. They were being handed out for use 12-18 hrs a day, seven days a week. For normal use back home they should work fine. I know a number of guys who use the paddle holsters. There are better holsters available for just a bit more money, but Fobus may be the only one making holsters for the LCP at this time.

I've got a Fobus that I use for my series 70 Colt. Its okay but its rarely used. If it was for daily carry I'd find something leather that would be more comfortable. JMO

I have the Fobus paddle for my LCP. It's not too bad for the money. The adjustable screw makes it tension adjustable.

I got a good deal on mine from eBay. They don't all have the Ruger logo on them BTW.

Note how very little of the gun is secured there. The engagement is only on the forward portion of the trigger guard. Better off if you put it into a pocket holster of some sort, IMHO.

Get a Nemises pocket holster. In my opinion that's the best way to carry the LCP because if you are going to carry in a belt holster: carry a bigger, i.e. more powerful gun.

Comp-tac holsters only engage the trigger guard. I've worn one in Iraq and Afghanistan for much of the last eight years with no problems. I've never seen a Fobus holster fail due to an engagement/security issue; I have seen them just come apart on a couple of people (in the field). I don't really care for pocket carry. If these are made for other small .32's and .380's I may check into one!!

The gun locks in and the holster can be adjusted for tension. I have mine set perfectly and it will not even come out of the holster when it's not on my belt. A quick yank and it pops out freely.

I have a Fobus for my 380 bersa. Good for a quick pop on or off but not as comfortable as leather or a Kholster or crossbread. Good for the price.
